The weather has been very clear in some of the areas it was sighted
in. Makes me wonder if it happens more often than we know, and it
was only exposed because civilians noticed it this time.

3 times while Trump was president, apparently.

And apparently they didn't realize it until well after the balloon had left our airspace.

it's in a lot of articles. it's not a regular weather balloon.

I knew that. It did have what looked like solar panels but maybe they were/were also sails that could be moved to cause it to change its course somewhat.

It was a big ass helium ballon the length of two buses. The ballon stayed at 66k feet all through it's course. At the spped it travelled across the US,

they said it was around 50k in some locations.
also pentagon and other sources said its maneuverable.

if it's imaging areas it probably had the ability to adjust vertically, as well.

i just looked it up and this balloon was 200feet in height and was carring around 2,000lbs of payload

Then they waited until it got 6 miles off our coast to shoot it down.

Even if they did, EOD teams travel with security teams which keep observers and passers by several hundred yards from the device
being dismantled. Assumming no one noticed this group of guys
NODS with magnification recording video, they would also require
a clear line of sight to see what the EOD guys are doing.

But they need that (a clear line of sight) anyway... (even in daylight).
What you're saying doesn't make much sense in supporting the idea that
they do things after dark to avoid being observed.

i dunno. do you really think that's so? it's not just the govt that could catch something like that. it's airports and civilians that could catch it also.

i guess in the past they flew over small areas.

i dont think we ever had a godzilla balloon just map an entire stretch from coast to coast before.

Yeah, there are a ton of pictures from this baloon. there's even home video of an F-22 firing a missile at it.

Maybe the previous balloons were much smaller?

Pretty sure I heard about it on BBC World News, which doesn't have much of a dog in the "bash Trump for more viewers" race.

i dont think we ever had a godzilla balloon just map an entire stretch from coast to coast before.

All China had to do was ask someone, and they would have pointed them to Google Maps. This could all have been avoided.

It' smore obvious they are not casual observers if they are wearing night vision or obvious camera equipment. They will have to position themselves in
a way to get a good picture or line of sight, exposing their intentions.
