I used to think referencing wikipedia was BAD, now people are just
referencing AI shit when saying people who make statements are wrong.

i saw this guy on facebook tell a guy 'gemini says' and blew my mind.

it's a sad state we are in.

This is my second biggest concern about AI, that people would just treat
it like it is some oracle, and what it spews out MUST be correct.
People already make this mistake though, with web searches. They search
on google, find a comment and think this is the definitive answer. So
its already a problem, but yeah, AI will just double it.

AI has been around for decades in the Usa Government with the Nsa, Cia and other federal agencies it is used in many case like I mentioned before to deciper world leaders comments and statements quickly. This is only a minor take on it's use, where it is replacing their teams of phycologists, physiatrists and intelligence analysts. With quick reading into what a person says. It is here to stay and will evolve and correct you when your wrong.

Hop on the boat and embrace AI.

I know you said you aren't a Star Trek fan, but there have been episodes sort of about this (at least one that I recall). I'm paraphrasing here, but I remember an episode of The Next Generation where they visited a planet where the people were using a computer to guide their actions. The computer had something that wasn't working anymore, and since the computer had been created generations before, the people currently living there didn't know how to repair it, as apparently that knowledge had been lost since the later generations didn't bother to study it well enough.

The Bronze Age collapse is interesting to delve into. It could happen
again, for sure. I think it already is in process.

That was such a great series. Your mention of this really got my attention and I'm wanting to watch it. After some searching I'm wondering if it was Contagion or When the Bough Breaks. For some reason I just don't remember that specific episode, but the ol memory ain't what it used to be.

I don't remember all the episode names, but it's possible it could be one of those episodes.

Star Trek: The Next Generation is one of my favorite TV shows of all time. I have the series on blu-ray, and I think they really did a good job remastering it for HD. And for the time the HD version was released, I think that would have been good timing for a 4K release as well, but I understand the budget only allowed for so much.

I've heard the blu-rays didn't sell very well though, unfortunately, so they don't have plans to remaster Deep Space 9 or Voyager for HD, especially as those would probably take more effort to do. I'd think they could at least do it for streaming though, and if they do, hopefully it wouldn't be too much more expensive for them to release blu-rays too. But one can only hope.. I still like to buy physical media, as I don't like to rely on streaming services, even to hold onto anything I buy a streaming version of. But that's a different discussion..
