Sorry one of my replies didn't go well. You mentioned how much you did to promote bbsing. It amazes me how much work you put in to it. I don't think bbsing will be like it was in the late 80s early to mid 90s but, it's possible we could see a jump in new users. Most people run from a terminal window and like facebook. Facebook is a dirty low-down company and if they keep up their behavior it may push people to look for something else. I used to run a board back in the day. It was a lot of fun, but modding could become too much for me. It's bad when you read the docs and do not understand them haha

i used to be really driven and really tenacious.
for many years i ran a lot of stuff and did a lot of stuff. sadly pulling the plug was more enjoyable than running it for all those years. bbs people are hard to stomach.

Related to my other post, if something in the docs confuses you, ask about it in the appropriate sub-board. You may have to skip (and not get hung up on) a couple negative messages, but someone will surely try to help you understand what is confusing you.

This hobby, much like other forums, newsgroups, etc. have our very own dedicated trolls. Once you're able to get past/ignore those, there are definitely some great folks around quite willing to help out.

    Regards,

Aren't you yourself a BBS people? Lol
Maybe you were trying to hard to save a medium that could'nt be saved at the level it was in it's glory day's.
It still survives despite the internet, we still have a nice little community and as a hobby it can't be beat IMHO, If I have free time I can tinker with my BBS, If I don't have time, there is no urgency to work on my BBS.

with synchronet it's probably best to keep the documentation open while you are doing what you're trying to do. it's also important to post what issues you are having and show config settings, etc instead of saying it's not working.

again with the troll comments. did a troll run over your puppy today? :D
