I know you didn't ask me... tuna salad with MW instead of mayo is
too sweet. Makes it taste... funny to me.

That's exactly whqt I was imagining.

Agreed - it tastes like those packaged tuna sandwiches you see at gas

food deserts(like no good place to get groceries) combined with a company focused on making these giant gas stations successful.

I'm always amused by the truck stops along some of the interstate

Jose and Los Angeles that has a massive store, with a whole CB radio

We have one of those type Gas stations between Salt Lake City and Tooele Utah, Called T&A Truckstop, they have Truck ad on's, a full line of CB radios and antena's, Clothing and much more.
And there's a Flying J Truckstop close by that.
It seems like most of the trucker traffic goes to T&A rather than flying J.

that must be a california thing. I used to travel to the east coast every year and i never saw anything bad. Truck stops are actually pretty awesome.

if they sold trucker amphetamines and 'other sketchy pills' they would be
shut down and no more big money for the owners.

When is the last time you were in a truck stop? They dont have anything cheap there. truckers have good money.

I wonder if truckers still use CB? I do trips along I-80 in California
often, don't see as many antennas on trucks anymore. The broadcast
nature of CB seems perfect for trucking.

You know, that might be. I kept thinking it was in King City, but
there's not a big enough truck stop as I remembered. I ran into it in
1995 coming back from Mt. Whitney. My first hike as an adult, up the

Hmmm, I'm sure many old timers probably still use CB's, the younger drivers might not, IDK Now I'm going to start looking at semi's closer to see if they have CB antena's.
I had a Cobra 29 SSB until the late 90's, Haven't even thought much about CB's since then.

last i was on there consistently was 2017 maybe? had a massive CB antenna on the roof of my house and a decent setup in my car..

especially in the winter time people will start calling out "break check at exit __" (traffic is backed up) .. or announce "you're going to want to be in the left lane" or whatever. or tell you where cops are.

at night time there were a few old folks that would get on there all drunk and talk about random shit. complain about the internet and cellphones and facebook.

the utility aspect was kind of neat but using it for chats .. not great.

i bet it'd be kinda fun nowadays though with the right group of people.. majority of those old timers wouldn't have radios with FM.. could have a
little neighborhood setup with a group of friends that's at least relatively obscure.

I hear 2 meter roll call in my area as well as GMRS roll call.
Back in the day we used to have CB roll call as well, and a bunch of us at or near Dugway Proving grounds military base here in utah would do Skunk hunts during the summer, One guy would get a 1/2 hour start, then park his car and all the other cars would try to locate the skunk by radio meter strength.
That was in the mid 70's.
