huh, now I am even more confused. The text/answer.msg shows me this is determined by the hostname of the system. The hostname is correct
though, but the ADDR field at logon still shows the wrong name though.
I restarted the system and this didn't change.
    Is this cached somewhere?

Doesn't bother listing bbs name, incorrect spelling or address so someone can connect and help out.

can't connect anyway, I am still organizing access to it from external
(my provider needs to change stuff on my router and they don't like
    other people fiddling with it)

you might be able to go in there and do passthrough. look up the router model and get the default login and pass. i had to do that with twc aka spectrum when we had an all in one (modem/router/voip). It's better just to purchase and use your own modem if possible.

i know people dont like to read the docs, but synchronet has pretty good documentation. It's good to just read through it and see what you might be missing.

it probably has the best documentation of any bbs software. I still reference the old stuff when needed.

Rob did make things a mess in the past when he was writing to these whatsnew files all the time. I'm not sure if the wiki is fully up to speed.

I have been trying, they locked down the admin console for it and only
allow access to settings over their website. And doing passthrough is
not part of the settings they allow. I am in contact with their IT
though. Maybe they can give me some access.
