Is there a chance that a different key could be assigned to the password
field. That way when alt-L enters the user field but fails to send the
password, the password can be sent by another Alt+(letter) command?

I didn't know about this Alt-L feature, but if you configure an entry in your BBS list with RLogin or SSH, you can put your login credentials in there. I'm not sure why there would need to be a separate hotkey (Alt-L) for that. Unless I'm misudnerstanding something.

I don't use SSH all that often (probbly should but don't see the option mentioned on a lot of BBSs) and not familiar with Rlogin. I can't imagine all the BBSs out there, SyncTerm or not, having the option that Rlogin would automatically work.

So for this I'm recommending the option to manually activate a password when needed. SyncTerm has the Alt-L feature I mentioned above for the user name and that works fine. Something to activate a password next would be helpful.
