Another top Boeing executive is stepping down. Susan Doniz, head of information technology at the aircraft manufacturer, is leaving the company effective immediately. CEO Kelly Ortberg announced this in a message to employees. Doniz is the fifth top executive to leave Boeing since Ortberg took over as the new CEO of the troubled company in August. Doniz has worked at Boeing since 2020, after previously holding a similar position at Australian airline Qantas Airways.
Boeing has been under fire since January after a door panel on a 737 MAX 9 came loose during a flight. The American aviation authority FAA has now tightened its supervision of Boeing. Robert 'Kelly' Ortberg replaced Dave Calhoun in August, who announced his departure earlier this year in connection with all the problems at the company.
Earlier this month, Ziad Ojakli left the American manufacturer. He was head of government affairs and in that role a top lobbyist for Boeing. In addition, it was announced last month that Elizabeth Lund will retire in December. She was responsible for the quality of commercial aircraft. Other top executives who left the company were Ted Colbert and Brian Besanceney, who were responsible for Boeing's defense and communications businesses, respectively.
