"Quebec riding of Terrebonne flips to Liberals after recount
shows candidate won by single vote"

"On Wednesday, Chief Electoral Officer of Canada St‚phane
Perrault announced the judicial recount after results showed
incumbent Bloc Qu‚b‚cois MP Nathalie Sinclair-Desgagn‚ beat
Liberal challenger Tatiana Auguste by 44 votes.

"Now, Elections Canada's website shows Auguste received 23,352
    votes. Sinclair-Desgagn‚ received 23,351 votes.

Apparently.. there are two other ridings getting recounts,
    according to the above article.

    Found one to offset it!

Liberals won Terrebonne, Que., riding by 1 vote but this woman's Bloc ballot wasn't counted.

Block Quebecois voter's mail-in ballot was returned to sender after the election,

Yes, it was sort of 'quietly' suggested that the original count
might have been influenced by the people counting the ballots
who would most likely want the French candidate to win, so the
tiniest 'error' on the ballot, like using a check mark instead
of an X, would have them tossing it if it was for Carney..
But, in a recount, there are several people keeping an eye on
things and any ballot that makes it obvious who the person wanted
to vote for is counted rather than discarded.

Apparently.. there are two other ridings getting recounts,
    >according to the above article.

Yes, and if I heard correctly, neither of those can help the
Carney Liberals. They already have the most votes there and
any change from a recount would just lost them that seat
rather than give them another one. So things won't change.
Carney has his minority government, but so close he should be
able to find a couple of people from other parties to back up
most of the things he wants to do..

The USA today greatly reduced the tariffs on China, and they
lowered theirs in response for at least 90 days, which took
a little of tension off of the markets since China sells the
USA something like $600 Billion a year in goods.

Trump also was given a $400 Million Jumbo Jet to use to replace
Airforce One as a gift from Quatar which Trump said he'd be a
fool not to accept.. ignoring that the US Constitution makes his
accepting gifts like that totally illegal..

Yeah.. "reduced the tariffs" that shouldn't have been there in
the first place. And now Trump is trying to sound like there is
progress because "countries wanna make deals".

I think this article explains what REALLY happened:

Yeah.. it's blatantly opposite what the Constitution says about
gifts from foreign countries. And even if he does get it
approved, the Air Force still has to work on it which could
take years not months. And.. I hope in the end, no one agrees
to fill it up with fuel, in the name of national security, of
    course! :D

Right.. Somehow I think he'll find some use for it beyond the next few
years while he is president before it gets put in mothballs..

Of course, if he gets his way, he may be president for the next several decades.. B)

Yes, I wasn't even sure if they accepted both a checkmark or X,
but some might do something like circle the name or something.

Apparently.. there are two other ridings getting recounts,

Yes, but both are already Liberal so those can't help Carney
to a Majority, possibly just lose him a seat or two.

Yes, I had a quick read through that and it's not a big surprise.
It's finally starting to dawn on Trump how much damage his
policies are doing in his own country. Hopefully something similar
will come about with Canada as well, although talk of a new North
American Free Trade deal might be a work-around.

Loblaws said today that they've had to increse the cost of over
1000 food items so far and that number will surpass 6000 items
in the next couple of months due to food tariffs..

The biggest danger there is that they may take advantage to
raise prices more than their costs go up.. It's like when Carbon
taxes got added to fuel a lot of grocery items went up by many
times what the increased fuel cost to move it would have justified.

It the rules are clear that someone can't hold more than two
terms, then that pretty much seals the deal. He can't get a
3rd term if someone hands it over to him, for example.

Yes, but he's been hard at work trying to change the Constitution so
that he can have at least a Third term, and maybe more. It bugs the
heck out of him I'm sure that our Prime Ministers can stay in power
for as long as they can win elections, and I suspect he'd much rather
be like Putin so he could just change the law to stay President forever
and be able to assassinate anyone who wants to replace him.. B)
