    The project should have been scrapped LONG ago, and Newsome recalled.

    I am a rail proponate, but the project just won't work.

    Money instead should have been spent on laying duel track so Amtrak does not have to compete with the freight companies.

    Infrastructure at the larger stations to support things like Rental Cars.

    Used to love riding Amtrak, but the lack of follow on transportation at stations was always a drawback.

    As am I. From everything I have read, I am also skeptical.

    That is an interesting idea and sounds better than what they've done so far.
