    Damon,

I think that might've been my system's fault at this point. I used to
    ha
problem where the Synchronet BBS process would jump up to 100% CPU usage, DAG>totally stop importing any messages to networked message areas. My guess DAG>that it stopped sending outbound at the same time. Anyway I was wondering DAG>things had been so quiet for a few days, took a look at the process list, DAG>that was the case, and fixed it a few days ago... So there might have been
small deluge of messages that'd be held up on my system.

I hadn't connected with my main FIDONet hub (Janis Kracht) in several
days, but got a bucket load of messages...the QWK packet is rather full tonight. :P

It was a good thing I had bought a used Windows Vista Home Basic
Laptop at a recent ham radio event in Shreveport, Louisiana. I had
bought a similar one at a ham radio in Monroe, Louisiana, from the same gentleman, but the new one has more memory and hard drive space. Anyway,
I had to reset the date and time in the CMOS tonight, but after that, I
kept getting a BSOD error when I tried to boot up. So, that one, along
with another older laptop (which has XP on it, but also limited on
memory and hard drive space), will go to a local shop for formatting and
parts use. I had bought a used Windows 7 32-bit laptop from a fellow
Sysop, and will eventually move the BBS to it.

We got 1 to 2 inches of much needed rain here today from storms, but
we still have storms in the forecast into Monday. Fire danger has been
high, with burn bans all over the place. But, the storms mean little or
    no computer or BBS work.

    Daryl

Yeah my problem hasn't been getting the messages; it's been getting the time in this particular terminal to respond to them. I know that there were quite few going back and forth with Nancy and I for awhile. Always glad to get some extra input. :)

Ack. Yeah I just try to stay away from Microsoft in general. The amount of resources that are used there, and the product that's being paid for... Well, I don't mind other people doing it, but it's not my choice. ;)
I have looked a little longingly at Synchronet's 'doze GUI, though, for awhile. At some point I may end up trying to set up Synchronet on Windows in VM just for the heck of it. I basically only operate Windows if I'm using Virtual Studio, though.

Smoke here from wildfires today. Visibility at the airport was said to be 2 statute miles. I'm guessing that hasn't been updated for awhile, I'd be surprised if that'd hold to a test right now. It's hazy and yellow out and smells pretty thick of wildfire.
Rain would be a good thing. :)
Do storms knock out your power pretty regularly there?
