    Hello Bob!

I don't know what I did... but I have managed to get GECHO going.

Thanks millions for all your help. Are you sure I can't repay you by registering Allfix. I'm going to use the Wildcat version. If you could put on

hold the latest wildcat 4 version for me I would appreciate it.

    Never used wildcat.

I see also this error when I try to run wcnotify.exe under OS/2 or Win32.

    Runtime error 200 at 0C50:0091.

    An ideas?

there are numerous patch programs out there to fix the 200 error... they are not all the same and they don't all work on the same compiler versions... if your program was written in TP7, a TP6 patch likely won't work... same for the difference in C and pascal... while the code is the same, the patches may not find it...

one way to find out which compiler it was compiled with is to look inside the binary for the copyright notices... at least one will generally be from the company that wrote the compiler and that will also generally tell you the language and version of the compiler...

Run UNP.EXE and then PATCHCRT.EXE on all of your Wildcat! 4.2 executables.
I had to do that to mine to make it all work.

After I got ownership and control of AllFix, I arranged to have any registration requirement removed, and as of then AllFix became free to use, with no unregistered delays or complaints. There is no need or desire for anyone to register the program. If anyone wants to support AllFix, just use the program, and say "Thank-you".

I I could manage to gain ownershio of Gecho, and acquire the source, I'd probably do the same.

All of my wildcat 4.2 executeables are working just fine. However this program

comes with GECHO not wildcat. GECHO was compiled by some form of C I think. I

can send you this program to take a look at if you like. It's just a small part of Gecho not the whole tosser.

gecho has a lot of anti-hacking code stuffs in it... doing much of anything to alter the binaries could easily trigger them and prevent it from running... that was one of the big controversies back in the day just before gerard disappeared... he had all this anti-hacking stuff in place and was caught hacking someone else's program(s)... really stirred up the goo and he was dumped from several beta teams for that...

i thought you said yesterday that you finally had it working??

I found the UNP program and it worked. It is not tossing andnotifying. Appears

that WCNOTIFY.EXE was pk-lited and once I got over that hurdle it's now patched

    and working.

Bob seems to think that Gerard passed away... but I've seen his picture on one of the Zone 2 historical websites when he was younger and found a MSDN profile that is quite active under his name that posted on MSDN last week.

I don't have an MSDN profile (can't afford one I think you pay for them) and could find no way to directly contact him through MSDN. I suspect he's truly abandoned things and if he was caught hacking that may be a reason.

It's a shame because GECHO is the rolls royce of tossers. It has every bell and whistle you can think of. But... for stability my money is and always will

be on FMAIL... I love open source! Maybe someone will code in other formats and goodies for FMAIL.

on the 19th of Sep this year, starting about 14:50 you wrote a series of three netmails to me from your 1:2320/100 address... the first and last was about OLMS even though the first one was titled "testing point routing"... the second
