it fails for me, if no sdcard is installed it places the backup files
on internal sdcard, this files cannot be uploaded to google drive :(
so if one does not have microsd installed, its not possible to move hotdoged over to another phone :/

that sounds like a phone OS problem...
if you can plug the phone into
a real computer and see the phone like a drive, you should be able to copy the files over and place them where you want to...
if the OS
prevents this, well... let us know so we don't fall into the same trap

Backup goes to external memory anyway.
The location of external memory
is reported by Android as it's described on Android developers site.
I guess you can access your external memory directory via the built in file manager or by connecting your phone to pc/mac via the usb, can't you?
