New tickets packages have been launched for the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship in Canada's western province of British Columbia.

As hockey fans begin the six-month countdown to the annual holiday tradition of
watching Canada's National Junior Team go for gold at the IIHF World Junior Championship, Hockey Canada has launched half-package ticket options to help them REPRESENT in Vancouver this December.

Hockey Canada announced in December 2016 that the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship was awarded to the Province of British Columbia, and would be co-hosted by the cities of Vancouver and Victoria, Dec. 26, 2018 to Jan. 5, 2019. Public support and fan response has been tremendous, according to Riley Wiwchar, director of the 2019 IIHF World Junior Championship.

"From day one, we have been inundated with requests from British Columbians for
everything from wanting to purchase tickets to wanting to volunteer. They were the catalyst for our REPRESENT campaign, and their response to the initial ticket-launch and call for volunteers has exceeded our expectations," said Wiwchar. "We're now in a position to increase the ticket offerings for Vancouver. This is a hockey-hungry province, and it's exciting to bring this event back to B.C. for the first time since 2006."

Two new ticket-package options are now available. The 10-game pack (Pack A) includes one pre-competition game, five preliminary-round games, one relegation-round game, one quarter-final, one semi-final, and the gold-medal game. This package guarantees one Team Canada pre-competition game and two Team
    Canada preliminary-round games.

The nine-game ticket package (Pack B) includes five preliminary-round games, one relegation-round game, one quarter-final, one semi-final, and the bronze-medal game. This package also guarantees two Team Canada preliminary-round games. Both ticket packages can be purchased for as low as $499 (plus fees).

Regional economic impact studies of past IIHF World Junior Championships hosted
in Canada have topped $80 million. In addition, a legacy plan for the profits of the event will provide for grassroots hockey program support across the province and throughout Hockey Canada's 13 regional members, as well as the Canadian Hockey League.

Limited quantities of full-event ticket packages for both Vancouver and Victoria are also available for fans to purchase online.
