If there was another choice in this area, I'd DUMP twcable :( :(

Today, our internet was in and out most of the day... now it's connecting at least... but it is incredibly SLOW though (about 5k speed!!)

I called them and was told they typical in a recording: "There are outages... You may be affected... Do you want to hang up or..." Heh.. after a few choice words, I hung up... didn't help but _I_ felt better Lol..

Anyway if you can hold off polling until later tonight it might be better then,
    who knows...

    Take care,
    Janis

I had a account with Comcast business I made 14 calls and 8 times they came
out to fix it and of course they never did, I had people that couldn't
connect to my business web site and the telent I wont even go into talking about the lag was so bad that it reminded me of 1200 USR modem.
Yesterday I got a last bill being I called and stated I have had enough. I
got my bill for over 4000.00 dollars being I was on a contract.

What a joke I lost business, I lost my hobby due to lag with telnet with them and a bill!

I don't think your doing too bad being now I have to hire a lawyer and fight Comcast in court.

    Good luck, Greg

Yeah, I had to laugh at how bad it got.. :) I really couldn't believe I was paying so much $$ for such a bad connection :)

I wasn't kidding about the speed here... Ron went to a speed test site, and it just disconnected earlier today.. I ran one tonight and boy, it got up to 120/11 .. insane.. ha.. You have to laugh at this crap or you'll go crazy I think <grin>

Yesterday I got a last bill being I called and stated I have had enough.

I do wish we had a choice here darnit..

Yes, contract here as well ... sick isn't it?

Hope all works out for you as well!

I have 10-15% packet loss under load (about 50-70mbit/s) and it's disturbing.

    no problem.

We do have a choice and I switched to AT&T gbit fiber for $80.00 per month. $40.00 cheaper than what I was paying Comca$t and for much more speed :)

From the modem to the rest of the network, 975Mb/sec. Up and
downstream. I checked the speedvia the speed test app on my desktop
this afternnon and it was about 750MBits/sec. Then again, I have
several VMs running on my desktop PC plus a couple of other physical
servers on my network as well.

    Sounds good Robert

Not really sure on what I'll get 30 mins out of Creede,co I with they would
let go of the new technology for the POD that sits on your roof.

Will have to wait and see if it is slowing or if it is being blocked.

Funny just got done ready a article that we are 5th in speed given to us.
But first in price for what is given.

    Sad state....

That depends on how many hops telnet and http traffic takes to get to and from your system if I understand your question correctly.

For insttance, the speed I get if I telnet to you from here in Mississippi may not be the same someone gets when they connect to you from China.

What is the advertised speed of your connection?

My current ISP has a new fiber offering here that is 250 down and 250 up. It is out at the pole here but my building has not been wired for it so I have to wait for that.

My current DSL plan is 50 down and 10 up. Quite slow after looking at local fibre plans but it does what I need it to do.. :)

    Morning Robert

Speaking of Comca*ss I had to hire a lawyer and filed a lawsuit against
them for the business account I had with them and them wanting 4000.00
being I broke the contract. No matter 10 calls, 8 repair men came to the
house and couldn't fix the trouble I was having. Plus the sleepless nights
the hives I had all over my face from being so pissed off. And even through
a divorce I never had hives.

    I'm still d*mm mad!

    I pay US$ 40/mo. for about 3M down and 1.5M up. It's not
fast but at least it works and isn't satellite.
