• Fwd: Bitcoin's price halved

From Wilfred van Velzen@2:280/464 to All on Thu Feb 12 10:35:28 2026

Such a halving of the price is dramatic, but technically not a disaster at all. It fits neatly within a major correction. Only when the price has passed the 66% drop is it technically a disaster. At that point, the financial industry is done with the subject that has fallen so far.

Incidentally, this isn't the first time Bitcoin has corrected this far. In that sense, there's no change in pattern. Just beyond the early phase, we saw the first major significant correction in 2017. There was also a major correction in 2018. After that, we saw two major corrections in 2021.

So it's quite possible that another bullish period will occur.

The question, of course, is when you should invest if you believe the coin isn't finished yet. The approach would be to buy small amounts every so often. You'd then ultimately buy at an average price.

If the price were to recover, that average price during the weak period would provide an excellent basis.

However, you must be convinced yourself that another bull market is on its way.
