Sorry about that, folks -- I know what I did but I don't know why it rescanned.
probably lost the high water mark message... that's why, when doing
message base stuffs, i always...
1. turn off the mailer
2. move legitimate outbound mail to a holding directory
3. do the work
4. run the tosser to scan out anything that it thinks needs to go 5.
delete those newly generated packets since they are likely regurge
6. copy the valid mail from the holding directory back to the
outbound 7. and finally turning the mailer back on

I thought I did that, but I guess I missed a step! <blush>
hehehe, yeah... i used to miss one or two, myself... the important
ones are turning off the mailer and deleting newly generated packets
after the work is done... but hey, we'll deal with it and move on :)
i remember what it took for me to get my groups stuff set up to keep
folks from having acces to areas that they should not have access
to.. i don't envy your or janis that task... especially if you guys
have multiple othernets to deal with at the same time... it is
almost as bad as allowing users access to areas on the BBS... gotta
have a similar breakdown of groups and access security settings...
