I went to use the FIND command for files (default sync menu setup) and after I the text I am looking for the BBS crashes and closes. I am running 3.20d if that matters. Not sure what the issue is and I dont get any error message. The BBS is running under Windows 10 (64bit) if that helps.

Can you paste a capture from the terminal?
I'm not able to reproduce the described issue in v3.20d on Vertrauen:

Find: ljadf
Searching for message areas with 'ljadf'

It occurred to me, maybe you mean the find text in file descriptions command > That too seems to work fine for me in v3.20d:
