• Multiple Fidonet Feeds

From Khronos@1:103/705 to All on Tue Feb 17 12:06:55 2026
What is the proper way to setup multiple fidonet feeds so that I can
receive the echos from multiple hubs in such a way that I get the
messages, but make sure that I don't cause them to get sent out to
upstreams that may have them already or cause routing loopss?
So far what I did was make two different groups one for each hub.
After this I put all the echos for my main fidonet hub into the first
group and all the echos that my hub did not cary into the second.
This solves one issue where I only send messages I post to one hub or
    the other.
The second issue I am trying to solve is to make sure I get all the
messages posted to an echo in such a way if hub 1 doesn't have the
message to send me, hub 2 will send it along and I will still receive
    it.

Thanks for any advice you may have for helping me do this.

With prolific use of MSGIDs and dupe checking, that's not usually a problem these days.

    That's not necessary.

You might be over-thinking it. :-)

Best to just have one uplink per echo in your area file and that's it. Nothing else special.
