Does anyone know when the new Star Trek Movie is coming out.
I am so tired of JJ screwing with Roddenbery.
JJ the warp nacells do not move when going to warp.
The planet vulcan did not implode.
    What a complete idiot.
I take no issue with the actors, fine talent. well almost no issue.
    Any thoughts from follow Trekiers?

Thoughts? Yes - I enjoyed both movies once I realized the first was
a reboot of sorts and not a prequel. Second was fine, but nothing that
    will change my life. :-)

As for the answer to your question - no idea. LOL

You have to remember that JJ is working in an alternate universe and timeline. It's not the same timeline that we grew up with. It is a new timeline for a new generation.

I did enjoy "enterprise" and since it happens "before" Kirk, etc. then
it is still in the same timeline. :-)

I enjoyed the later part of TNG and remember being so disappointed in DS9
    an
the whole premise of the show where you have this space station where most things seems to evolve around yet another bunch of aliens visiting the
    space
station or whatever. It very became stale and boring.

I must admit I haven't seen Enterprise at all but I really enjoyed the
    episo
of Voyager that I managed to see. Maybe I should give Enterprise a try too?

I really enjoyed TNG myself, especially in the last couple of seasons
where it became super intense (it's been awhile, but I don't think that I'm remembering the part where that happened wrongly). Felt the exact same way about DS9. It was just another soap opera to me; and I can't really say that my attitude about that type of show has changed since I was in the single digits and couldn't stand them when my mom was watching 'em.
I'd totally try to give Enterprise a shot if you hadn't seen it. It reminded me of a retro version of TNG very much. Scott Bakula (sp?) was a little bit tough to get used to in the captain's role but I acclimated fairly well to it within a couple of episodes. It's a lot more adventurous than DS9 or Voyager seemed to be, though it does still have some 'talking head' episodes.

You know I had thought that DS9 was not as good as the other Treks, and noticed
that it was never picked up but any of the networks to run like TOS and TNG are. (Voyager has been run couple of times and so has Enterprise but not in the last few years.)

Anyway I decided since I only saw DS9 thorough one time and then the rerun I would look at it again and found it on Netflix. I got the discs and actually found a new respect for DS9. Especially looking at the special features and enjoed them. I found that that DS9 had some pretty good episodes and through the 7 years has a storyline that is developed and concluded.

NOT that I liked the conclusion but it is there sort of a conclusion that could
be reopened and finalized. There was never a finality to the story, a made for
TV movie could have fixed that.

I must admit I haven't seen Enterprise at all but I really
enjoyed the episodes of Voyager that I managed to see. Maybe I

That one never got the attention from the writers that it deserved and they wrote the story off too quickly and stumbled with a lot of the episodes which were poorly written. Though there are some pretty good episodes gems there.
    It deserved a better fate.

BBC America runs TNG but they run the SAME episodes over and over again and they run them out of order. You look one day and they are running season 2 then back to season 1 maybe a few from season 3 or 4 you can never tell what they are going to show. And complaints to their progrmming deparment fall on deaf ears.

I didn't like DS9 much when it was new and for years I avoided it. Not long ago, having churned though most of TNG, I decided to check out DS9 again, because if you recall, it ran concurrent to TNG for a while and had some overlapping plotlines.

In the first two seasons DS9 is trying to find its way, but there are some
nice moments. The show improves dramatically when Worf joins the cast, and it really stays strong up until the final season (with a few missteps along the way -- such as the cheesy Ferrangi-centric plots).

I'd suggest taking another look at it!

As for Voyager... ugh. Gilligan's Island in space. Although I hear it got
good later on also, so it may be worth a second look as well.

Same reason all of the shows we like get cancelled. To me Enterprise was a thinking show and they just don't seem to do well. It's kind of rare when a thinking show and a popular show are the same show. Also I think the Xindi season killed it more then anything. Also the time dialation didn't help. If they had stuck to Man exploring the stars and settling aurguments between races
it might have been a better received. Time travel has been done to death.

Story lines like the Vulcans and Andorians where the best as it showed that not
everyone likes or trusts the Vulcans. It also showed us how completely out matched Man is in the galaxy.

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't been on my BBS for a few weeks.

I thought Enterprise was a lot of fun, but the best fun came in the last
season when they did SO MUCH...

    1) They featured the grandfather of Data's creator who was dealing in
    Genetics.
    2) Later that played into why the Klingons lost their ridges.
    3) Story on how Vulcan turnd completely to logic.
    4) One story with Organians.
    5) All throughout more interactions with the Andorians which made the
whole series. The interaction between Archer and Thran that is. :D
    6) The best of all, the Mirror Universe episode where a Constitution
class ship lost in the Tholian Web of the original series falls into the
Archer timeline. Two parter, just excellent!

So yeh, love it. Hated the last episode, not because of of Riker and
Troi being there, I liked that, but just how they killed Trip off.
Stupid. And the books for the series later undid that.

December 15th if no one has responded.

Well, that would be for the next Star Wars movie... There is no release date for the next Star Trek movie.

    At least not yet.

Didn't I just see you on Facebook the other day? ;)

At any rate, I've been a little behind in the Trek news... Anything been released about the new movie?

Same reason all of the shows we like get cancelled. To me Enterprise
    <SNIP>
.Some times I wonder how shows like Game of Thrones and The
Waling Dead get so much attention... Might be the sex/violence part, I really can't say for sure.

Some of it is how cheap it is to produce, soaps are cheap which explains both Dark Shadows and The Walking Dead ;} Star Trek tends to use more expensive effects and upgrade them when better are available. The Stargate series used effects that were cheaper and got better and better. Sanctuary only exists because of effects that grew out of Stargate. Planet hell is now only in a computer, not even a painting anymore :(
