I cant update windows unless I install from scratch on my box. My boot reco has 2 windows installs 1 from the ssd and 1 from the hd.
Problems with updates not installing on Windows 10 can usually be resolved by running the Disk Cleanup Wizard. Run and select "Adminstrative Options" if prompted and then put a checkmark in "Windows Updates".
Let this run no matter how long it takes or hungup it appears.
When its finished, run the updates again. Updates may not appear immediately, so again let it sit patiently.
You may also manually install the latest updates by running "Winver" and noting your build number, then google "Windows 10 update history" and look for the appropriate build history. Install the latest Service Stack Update followed by the most recent update (should be Jan 12)
The Windows 10 partition should have at least 20 gb free to install updates.
