FIrst I install languages support on the system, but the languages menu only shows USA. Language support shows all the languages I installed.

THen I get into Libre Office Writer and chose a new language from tools.
It asks to restart teh software, not system.
I does and the program interface is all in the new language,
but not my typing. I switch back to Enlgish, but it is stuck
in the new language. Restart software and system, same.

I had to carry the system to somewhere with wifi, which I can do about once every six weeks. I need an easier fix. Maybe even delete all non-English languages as a rast lesort

You need to install the dictionaries to use the spelling check.

hunspell-en-us e.g. is the name of that package.
