Review: GREAT way to start Gluten Free cooking....wish I had not purchased a bunch of sub-par flours and other ingredients (leading to a bunch of recioe total disasters and wasted time & ingredients prior) before I found this . Answered all my questions and then some.
Downside is the book weighs almost 4 lbs so I had to return it and get the Kindle version. Thank you Amazon...what could I do without you!

Review: This review is a bit harsh as I have only tried two recipes. Here is the thing I went to the store and got most on the ingredients at one supermarket (Sprouts) went home and tried the strawberry shortcake recipe. Keep in mind you can not go wrong with strawberries, sugar, and cream. That part of course was delicious. The actual muffin?? did we forget flavor? How about I forget about it and just eat strawberries with sugar and cream? On a second try (cause now I have a bunch of flour already mixed) I added some more sugar and the zest of a whole lemon. Better, much better. I can not understand why something so simple was not part of the recipe in the first place.
I also tried some corn flakes as coating for pork medallions. Again, lovely golden pork medallions... no flavor. I have a feeling I may not have liked the original recipe. Did somebody forget spices?
I will keep trying but I have a feeling they are holding back a bit. Just going with recipes are you need to build on. Nothing wrong with that. I do appreciate the monumental effort. But as my kid sat down to eat those gorgeous looking strawberry shortcakes the disappointment settled in. "Should I make these again?" I asked... response :" may be without the muffin". So there you have it. Perhaps check this out at the library before buying

Review: It was very frustrating trying to find gluten free products that weren't tainted with tons of chemicals or other ingredients that were problematic (soy). Some products were great in the beginning, then began to add more sugar and soy protein, so disappointing. Then I found this book!!!
I have tried the bread (sandwich, mullet, brioche, cinnamon raison) all excellent, the bagels were incredible!
Even some of the dishes like shepherd's pie were great! and then there is the SCIENCE! America's test kitchen, explains all the details and science behind the ingredients! I love the section "why this recipe works!"
