  • Surprise (for me) Update

    My ancient iPad mini 4, that at this point in its life is only used as an alarm clock and guitar tuner, just received a surprise update to iPadOS 15.8.5. I don't recall getting any iPadOS updates for some years, and I
    did not see mention of this update in recent Apple news.

    Followup to me: A security update for something particularly nasty. I see
    now it was released the same day as iOS/iPadOS 26. It was way down the webpage, and easy to miss, especially if one had stopped looking for
    updates for such old hardware.
