    Great news!

Gentoo is not a distro that is made for grandmothers and thus, as a
new user, you may experience occasional problems.

The Gentoo forums are always ready to offer help:

    <https://forums.gentoo.org/>

You can also ask questions on this NG, if you can manage to avoid
    getting swamped by the idiots.

Holy shit, it takes three days to set up email on Gentoo? Wow. What a pointless bit of drivel Gentoo seems to be.

I've been doing some research on Gentoo, and it seems that it takes even
the most advanced users of that distro an average of 37 days to gain an Internet connection.

Keep us informed of your journey into the rotten depths of computing
hell. As you thrash around for months and months trying to solve problems Linux users haven't encountered since 1993, please regale the group with
how satisfied you are solving issues that haven't been seen in the wild in over 30 years.

If you play your cards right, maybe you could descend into complete
insanity and start posting videos to the board where you cackle
incessantly and say *fuck you* every 8 seconds.

Be sure to sprinkle in some *Gentoo is King and I am It's Servant* here
and there to add some authenticity to what is sure to be your complete
    mental ruination.

I must admit, I missed the point of the OP Farley Flopp.
    I didn't realize he's a comedian!
And a very funny one at that.

37 days to establish an Internet connection?
It took me zero hours as the install of LinuxMint did it all
behind the scenes and it worked perfectly.

This Farley Flopp fool sounds like a solution looking for a problem.
    But he is quite humorous.

I wonder if Postfix was involved? Back in the day O'Reily had a very thick book dealing with that beast. It could do anything sooner or later, mostly later.

Nah. I used Gentoo a couple time, it was fairly easy to set up.

I use Debian (and Arch) as well, but it's not really a point of
    pride.
