I agree!!! And more: training AI on public data is violence copyright
law, which originally/at the beginning prohibits mechanic or automatic conversions in order to create new things, and sold them as something new/genuine/original. Earlier this year I try to find that paragraph in polish law, but I failed - apparently they silently removed it.
There are many other examples.
Chocolate is a very luscious and also very expensive commodity.
Some unscrupulous companies, however, want to reduce the expense, for
their profit, by making "phony" chocolate. They will mix cocoa powder
with cheap palm oil, instead of the real cocoa butter, to make an ersatz chocolate that they will then claim as the real thing.
If one has ever tasted this phony chocolate it is readily apparent that
it is a junk food. Real chocolate is far better.
IMO, this process of falsification is identical to the AI "revolution."
But only a highly discriminating taste can distinguish real chocolate
from its phony incarnation. The same is true for AI.
