One of my GNU/Linux machines is based on the Gigabyte GA-H97-D3H

This machine is already over 10 years old but, due to my highly
customized GNU/Linux system, it performs on par or better with
current systems (and I have the benchmarks to prove it).

However, it only has 16 Gb of RAM memory. Rather than scrap it
I would like to add 16 Mb more RAM memory. This should then serve
as a valuable system well into the future.

But, even for this "ancient" hardware, memory prices are outrageous:

Unfortunately, only Memory4Less has the original Crucial memory.
The alternatives are only junk copies:

I suppose that this is just another casualty of the forced AI(LLM).
We are all forced to suffer because these mal-educated, yet highly
paid, corporate managers and personnel cannot even compose a simple
    email message.

Intelligent and properly educated people will NEVER require AI(LLM).

Ummmm ... kind of FORGET adding more RAM right now.

The 'AI' market has kind of sucked up ALL memory production.
This is what's in hot, high-volume, demand ... so the factories
make THAT in pref to anything else.

It's not compatible with YOUR desktop/laptop/whatever.

Using Linux, I've found that those 'little' boxes like
from BeeLink or BMax are more than adequate for anything
I need at home. Wouldn't have been at The Office, but
I'm gone from that. These are fair 'laptop'-level chips
    in tiny boards/boxes. LIKE 'em.

Even thus, the PRICE - after the Trump/Xi war - have gone
up substantially ... and the higher mem options have largely
    disappeared.

Bought a few ATA-SSDs for those little boxes - do boost
the speed considerably - but the Samsung 8xx series are
kinda all you can get. Those are YEARS old. OK, but OLD.

Expect things to STAY this way for at least another year.

What I have will serve ME for a few years more. However
if you're doing new stuff - it's kinda Tuff Titty. At
least Linux is a LOT more frugal with RAM than Winders.
Shop lower-end Winders boxes and FLUSH that crap system
    immediately for some Linux.

I take pride in not letting Winders run for a single
millisecond before I overwrite with Linux :-)
