--- Synchronet 3.20a-Linux NewsLink 1.114Not sure about the user info, but all the other stuff should beSeems like to much work to worry about all of the different printer types
embedded in the file. Sometimes we had to do that beacuse
of memory issues or some other problem. To actually print the
file, we just did a binary copy of the file to the port. If it were an
HP Laser printer, you would have to know how to decode PCL 6
to get that, though. Or postscript, or whatever it is that inkjet
printers use.
and formats (PCL, PS).. I might need a different method than that.
Is there a print spooler involved? Nowadays all my printers are direct connected to the network with IP addresses and built in spooling.
When the server was managing the spooler, I believe you could
set up an application to pre-process the print jobs. We never used
it because the print files were always sent directly to the printer,
but that might provide the hook you need.
The Win32 spooler is involved, so maybe I will do some more research into this possibility.
Thanks for your help...
