Thief: Definitive Edition
TY. ;)
I was always ambivalent about the fourth "Thief" game. It wasn't a bad
game, but in some ways it felt a step back from "Thief 3". Partly it
was the changes made to the protagonist -visually and in character-
but it was as much the level design. It felt more "gamey" than
previous games, with enemy design and placement that seemed made to
challenge the player rather than because the world demanded it. I
recall the stealth-mechanics being less satisfying.
On the other hand, I remember liking the gloomy character of the city;
there were some spooky bits that were really fun to explore. I enjoyed exploring the game the first time I played it, but it got tedious on
my second playthrough; there just wasn't enough to the game to keep up
my interest.
But what do I know; I think the third game was the best in the
franchise ;-)
