I just made a long list of games I want to try again that I never
finished. Added some I did finish I want to play the DLC or something.
And a very short list of games I want to try. I'm having a bit of
choice overload, so thought I'd ask here what I should (re)play next.
Also curious if anyone has a similar list. They aren't in any
particular order other than I've been playing PS5, then I looked through Steam, GOG, Epic and Amazon in that order.

Games to Try Again (Didn't Finish)
Demon Souls (would have to use a guide to get past the Jail- confusing area) Risk of Rain 2
Hades - try on story mode
    Guardians of the Galaxy
    Batman: Arkham Asylum
    Bioshock
Code Vein (probably need a guide)
    Skyrim
Monster Hunter World (Already tried 2x but couldn't force myself past
    the tutorial.)
    Shadowrun Returns
Nightreign (love/hate, mostly hate due to time limit)
Baldur's Gate 3 (want mod to cut down inventory management)
Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
    The Witcher 2
Helpoint (Would need a guide for confusing areas)
Superhero League of Hoboken (started to feel too much just the same
    random encounters)
    Everspace 2
    Journey to the Savage Planet
    Marvel Midnight Suns
    Dungeons 3
Days Gone (Have it on PS5, but FPS sucks on controller.)
    Mortal Shell (very buggy though)
    Death stranding
Assassin's Creed: Valhala (had tech issues, only tried on free weekend) Assassin's Creed: Origins

    Games to Replay
City of Heroes - I like it but feel like I did everything
The Witcher III - Missed the supposedly best DLC
Fallout 4 - play Fallout London, buy DLCs and play them.
Cyberpunk 2077 - Waiting for patches to stop coming so I can try mods
Warframe - Feel like I did everything that isn't insanely grindy.
    Lies of P - DLC
    Bloodborne - DLC
    Outer Worlds - DLC

    Games to Try
    Stray (PS+)
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical (GoG)
    Space Club (Epic)
    Dawn of War II (Amazon)
Helldivers (I'd like to try, but no way am I buying it first as I
probalby won't like it due to time limit. I can't tell by what little
    videos I've watched.)

I've only played a few of these:

    Batman: Arkham Asylum
IMHO I'd start with this one, so good, as are Origins & City, though I
was never good at chaining attacks

    The Witcher 2
The least satisfying of the trilogy, and I never tried choosing the alternate faction gamepath.

Days Gone (Have it on PS5, but FPS sucks on controller.)
Really enjoyed the frantic combat in this one, and yes mouse+kb is the
way to go. I essentially 100% this one, except for a few sillier cheevos

The Witcher III - Missed the supposedly best DLC
Replaying the whole game just for the dlc sounds kind of brutal, use an
old savegame or ask around for one.

    Lies of P - DLC
I played the heck out of the main game, hence why I'm not interested in
the dlc. Same with Elden Ring.

Ugh, yeah, PoE is skill tree hell and I didn't like that. I'll probably
stay away from Shadorun Returns then. I always wanted to try Shadowrun
pen and paper RPG, I thought this would be a good way to get some

I don't remember why I quit, I just wrote "I got tired of it" here.
I've heard how good of a game it's supposed to be, so tempting to give
    it another go.

    The Witcher 2
The least satisfying of the trilogy, and I never tried choosing the alternate faction gamepath.

I'm surprised how much time I spent on that game, and how little I got through. I've got 43 hours on it, and I didn't get out of the first
area. I probably just need to play it on an easier setting or look up
how to get gud at it.

Days Gone (Have it on PS5, but FPS sucks on controller.)

I'd have to buy it on PC I couldn't stand the controller for FPS, which
is mainly what's holding me back. I suppose I could try to connect my
kbm to it, I wonder if that even works. Apperantly you can connect
those, but game support is the real kicker, I guess I have to try it.
The PS5 isn't in a good place for that currently though. I'd have to
sit on the floor and try to figure out how to use them. Or I'd have to
take the PS5 to my desk, but the kids have started playing it again.

The Witcher III - Missed the supposedly best DLC
Replaying the whole game just for the dlc sounds kind of brutal, use
an old savegame or ask around for one.

I had planned to do NG+ as well, and try to get to that DLC at least.
Maybe need a walk-through to get to that one. It's a pretty good game,
but it does get a bit repetitive. At least it would play a little
different on NG+. I just didn't feel like doing it at the time. Not
sure if I'm ready for that yet.

    Lies of P - DLC
I played the heck out of the main game, hence why I'm not interested
in the dlc.  Same with Elden Ring.

I think I'd have to buy it. I have that on PS as well, it says I own
it, but I thought it was just during my PS+ sub (same with Days Gone)
but don't think I have the DLC. I would play a different build at
least, though I feel like I tried pretty much everything, as I played technique, but you can just put the str/arcane (or whatever they're
actually called in the game I forget) heads on a tech handle.

So I used an old psychological trick.

I rolled random numbers against the list. I found out I didn't really
    want to replay/continue:

    Death Stranding
    Nightreign
    Code Vein

    at least not yet

Next one that came up was Tainted Grail. I haven't forgotten how to
play it, so figured why not keep going, I at least made a little
progress last time. I guess it'd been long enough, enjoying it again,
    and near the end.

    Look out srr_binary_editor.zip.

It's a bit odd to work with, but that's due to the way Shadowrun save files are structured.

Once you have it figured out, you can finagle your stats to your heart's content.

Hey, I'm all for giving games a second chance (it's even been the
topic of CRAP polls... twice!). Internally, I call it the "Gothic
Principle", because that game was the perfect example (for me) of why
it works. I /hated/ that game the first time, but fell in love with it
    on my second attempt.

Plus, given that I /buy/ a lot of my games, it just seems sort of
wasteful not to play a game to its end at least once, with the goal
being that I play each game at least twice in order to 'maximise
value'. Just don't ask how frequently I actually achieve that goal

(But damned if I don't try!)

Games to Try Again (Didn't Finish)

    The Witcher 2
Of all the many games you have in this section, this is the only one
I'd say, "Don't bother". For all its rough spots, I enjoyed the
original "The Witcher", and I don't think anything needs to be said
about the incredible quality of "The Witcher III", but the second one
isn't worth the time. It's story is a confused mess, it lacks the
openness of the other games, the combat isn't much fun and it doesn't
really expand the game's lore. (It was rather pretty for the time,
I'll admit). I played it to the end the once and have banged my head
against it several times since, but it's just not a fun game.

    Games to Replay
The Witcher III - Missed the supposedly best DLC
A great game, and the "Blood & Wine" DLC is gorgeous (and certainly
the best amongst all the DLC released for the game). That said, the
DLC itself isn't that exceptional, except that it is so visually
distinctive from the rest of the game. After tromping for twenty or
forty hours through the mud and grime of Novigrod, the colorful
flowery realm of Toussaint is a breath of fresh air. Mechanically and narratively, it's fairly humdrum, tough. You'll also end up with gear
so powerful that it makes taking out the end-game boss a doddle, too.

    Games to Try
    Stray (PS+)
Only if you like kitty-cats. The game itself isn't really that
memorable, but the cat-protagonist is adorable. But the gameplay isn't
very good, and the story is trite. This game is all about watching a
little cat realistically move across your screen, and if that doesn't
excite you, the rest of the game will likely be a disappointment.

I don't have a list per se of games I want to play (if I did, it
certainly would be too long for even ME to post on Usenet ;-)

Every now and then I scroll through my library and pick out a few
games I think I should replay (like "Planescape") in an attempt to
decide 'what to play next' but that's never a constant thing. And
often I ultimately decide on a game that wasn't even /on/ that list
    anyway.

Here's one such list that -for whatever reason- never got deleted,
    dating back to 2023

    Ace Combat Assault Horizon
    Assassin Creed Origin
    Borderlands
    Call of Cthulhu DCotE
    Call of Duty WW2
    Castlevania
    Challenge of the Five Realms
    Conquest of Camelot
    Convoy
    Darkness Within
    Dragon Dogma
    Dreamfall Chapters Final Cut
    Elder Scrolls Redguard
    Flight of the Amazon Queen
    Gemini Rue
    I Shall Remain
    Long Dark, The
    Lost Planet 3
    Machinarium
    Mafia
    Master of Orion 4
    Mothergunship
    Noctropolis
    Planescape Torment
    Prey (2017)
    Red Faction Guerrilla ReMARStered
    Resident Evil HD Remaster
    Serial Cleaner
    Shadowgate
    Splinter Cell Chaos Theory
    Star Trek: Judgment Rites
    Techno Babylon
    Tyranny
    Watch_Dogs 2

I'm getting ill from going through the beginning as many times. Could
use a nice mod to crank up some skill pts or something - I don't
really have a lot of fun with skill trees because they just seem like
a way to beat me over the head with a stick.

Ugh, yeah, PoE is skill tree hell and I didn't like that.  I'll probably stay away from Shadorun Returns then.  I always wanted to try Shadowrun
pen and paper RPG, I thought this would be a good way to get some
experience at it.  I only played it for a few minutes and just didn't
    get it.

Well, I went back to it yesterday and it's not as bad as I thought. The
game thoughtfully tells the number of skill points spent so far, which
means you only have to go back to a save that allows you enough
flexibility to continue. This is usually not the beginning, although a
poor class choice will make that necessary.

Oh, I thought of ONE game I definitely want to give another replay:
    "Cyberpunk 2077".

Partly because -even though I played it to the 'best' ending, I still
don't feel I explored the game to its fullest. There's just so many
side-quests and alternate starts and nooks-n-crannies to explore! But
also, I played the game before the DLC came out, and I need to see how
    that plays out too.

But it's such a big, long game that I'm reluctant to even get started. Especially since there are new maps for the truck-driving sims that
are soon to be released and I _know_ how much you all are excited
about me reviewing those in our monthly 'what have you been playing'
threads. I can't disappoint you by playing something else, can I? ;-)
    ;-)

[Also, "Cyberpunk 2077" is such a big game to download. It's
not as bad as it was in years-gone-by, when it could literally
take DAYS to complete the transfer, but if I have a choice
between playing a game that downloads in 20 minutes versus
one that will take several hours, it's usually the former
that gets the nod. I want to play NOW, not tomorrow!]

So start the download just before you go to bed, and it will be ready to
    play when you wake up.

    Trucking mods for Cyberpunk 2077.
I have not tried either of them but likely will soon since I've
    completed all the side jobs.

Pity there's only so many cyberpsychosis jobs and the like.

If you played before the 2.0 update (which came out when the DLC did)
it's practically a different game as far as the builds and combat. You
really owe it to yourself to play it in it's current state.

It hangs in my mind as probably game of the decade now. It's wild it's
    5 years old.

Well, maybe (replay). It feels overly long though. In my playthrough I
tried to pass that not-raccoon guy off as a monster which didn't go over
well :) Fairly tedious game for the most part and the enemies are pretty unimaginative in parts. Bouncy jelly blobs? It's like they ran out of
    ideas for weird space creatures.

The parts where you fly or fight with the space ship were fairly bad but usually short. Some other fights were pretty tough, took a lot of tries
to get through. But still, mostly OK.

Fallout 4 - play Fallout London, buy DLCs and play them.

It's the other way around, Fallout London needs (almost) all the other
DLCs. There was one DLC I don't have but it's not needed either.

As for playing Fallout London, it's decent. I'm not too keen on the
various minor and major factions in London and the landscape designers
relied way too much on impenetrable hedges. And no nuclear-powered hedge trimmers or chainsaws.

But then, the Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3 wasn't much
better. Annoying maze until you unlock enough fast travel points and
    then just forget it.

    Definitely lower on my priorities.

Turns out I have FO4 GotY, which I'm assuming has all the DLCs. I think
I bought it on GOG on sale at some point?

I do love me some Fallout, but wasn't that impressed with FO4, we'll see
how London holds up when I get around to it.
