I'm just making it 'official' with a fresh post (also, easier
to find a reference should I go searching for it in future.
But I happily concede that Zaghadka gets the Internet Points
for this one.]

Anyway, after much delay, the free game from Epic was:


* Hogwarts Legacy

A title which, apparently, eschews the possessive apostrophe.
I guess they figured nobody was going to use it anyway (see
"Baldur's Gate" series, another game where everybody just
ignores the punctuation). Anyway, this one has already gotten
a lot of talk and press, so it doesn't need much description.
It's a good enough game (and very pretty), with my major
complaint that I just don't like the setting. But if you can
get past that you'll probably have fun.



Anyway, you've six days left to claim "Hogwarts Legacy", if you're
interested. It doesn't seem as if we're getting daily freebies from
Epic, though; the next free game is only getting announced on
Thursday. <sigh> A bleak Christmas, indeed.

I loved it, even if I'm lukewarm on Harry Potter. Great deal, though it
was just on sale for $9 I think.
