• FREE GAME: "Arabian Gulf" (but don't bother)

    Time for freebies!

    * Arabian Gulf
    https://store.steampowered.com/app/3744480/Arabian_Gulf/
    <sigh> A crap first-person action/survival asset-flip game.
Buggy and (in this case, fortunately) lacking in content
as well. It's free and you're still paying too much if
    you get this one.

Look, I just /announce/ the games; I don't pick them. It's not my
fault the free games are such low-quality. I'd love to be able to
point you to free versions of "Elden Ring" or something, but right
now? The above is all I got.

Heh. :) I got a chuckle out of this comment. Thanks for that.

Isn't even sending traffic to the link of these piece of shit games
just encouraging every hobbyist on the planet to go out and vibe code
a crap game and put it on Steam just to say they did?

Why help support the proliferation of garbage by posting about it
    here?

+666 STOP posting shit games nobody wants. WTF?

+666? Hmm... umm.. Thanks? Well I'm not sure being Satan-backed in
my opinion is necessarily the fast track to popularity...

..But since I never gave one momentary fuck about popularity or
validation from others (popularity quests are for simps chasing
attention they didn't get from mommy or whatever)...I'll just say what
I think would be best for the newsgroup in the most honest and
authentic way I can think of.

Less useless spam. Seriously. It's gotten so bad I barely read
    anything that's posted here anymore.

They're called NEWSgroups for a reason, can we not respect that
historical reason? Endless posts of free shitty games that nobody
will ever care about is not news. It's more like a cry of desperation
for someone to give a fuck about the outcome of their keystrokes. To
post shit games and then to try to come up with a way to make said
useless post entertaining is only a downward spiral of dispair. Nobody
is ever going to care or respect about that.

I get that you like to write Spalls. I think you have a knack at it.
But I think you never got anywhere with it because you haven't learned
the kind of discipline of "less is more". Reserving your keystrokes
until you have something genuinely interesting to say.

Think of it this way, even the most talented player of a musical
instrument.... and it doesn't matter if it's a ukelele, or a pan
flute, or even if it's Eddie Fucking VanHalen on guitar shredding his
ass off..... The art should come in smaller, well-timed doses or it
becomes a repetitive pain in the ass.

Use your flair for writing to come up with something interesting, less frequently, and you will find your understanding of what annoys other
humans expands. And once that begins to happen, you might emerge from
this Usenet bubble and branch out into analog life in a way that
provides exponential benefit and enrichment. Both by giving you
something to do other than spam this NG, and also leading to real life friendships and acquaintences, potentially even loss of virginity
(never too old for that!). All I'm saying is thinking about it.

Honestly, once I started reading about this game I was tempted to
scrap the post... but I'd already started and hadn't the heart to hit
    delete. ;-)

Besides, a lot of the freebies aren't worth much... but this one was
easily the worst of the lot.

    <scary music> So far! </scary music>

I tend to give a lot of games more credit than they probably deserve,
usually along the lines of "well, it's just not for me" or "well,
maybe the developer just hasn't the skill to realize their vision"...
This game, though, was such an obvious asset-flip with no redeeming
value that maybe it deserved a post here for that reason alone. ;-)
