You know the drill. Bezos needs a new super-yacht, so pay into Amazon
Prime to get some barely-worth it games and services! Let's see what
    wonders they give us today!

    * HexGuardian (via EPIC)
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/hexguardian-2b0cbe
    It's a tower-defense game with a hex-based map. Not
really that bad but nothing to write home about. But
it's apparently quite buggy, so even if you love the
genre you might not want this one.

    * Tiny Tina's Wonderlands (via Epic) https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/tiny-tinas-wonderlands
The original Tiny Tina DLC for Borderlands 2 was a
neat side-project that added a unique and different take
to the main game. But Gearbox took this good idea and
is just running it into the ground. Bleh.

    * Dread Templar (via Amazon) https://store.steampowered.com/app/1334730/Dread_Templar/
A fairly uninspired retro 'boomer-shooter'. Even if you
love the genre, there's little here to interest you with
unexciting combat and dull (if colorful) levels.

    * Around the World: Travel to Brazil CD (via Legacy) https://store.steampowered.com/app/2614690/Around_the_World_Travel_to_Brazil/
Hurrah! The requisite hidden-object game returns to Prime
Gaming! I mean, it's never a game I'm interested in playing
(or even adding to my library) but I missed it when it wasn't
    there. ;-)

Not really a great collection of games this time (and a complete
absence of games on GOG; did the sale of that company end the
partnership agreement with Amazon, I wonder?). Then again, the games
Amazon offers later in the month rarely are as good as the ones they
give us at the start, so I'm not about to condemn the whole program.
(Well, not anymore than I already do). It's still a better deal than HumbleChoice.

See y'all in a couple weeks for the next batch of games!

One reason for the shoddy releases this time might be because Amazon
is offering an actually interesting game on their 'Luna' streaming
service. Namely, "Alan Wake II'; a game which might not be to the
taste of everybody here but is undeniably a quality title.

I didn't announce it in the 'normal channel' because it does require a
Luna account and is (AFAIK) streaming only, and as a general rule I
don't promote games with such dubious ownership.

But I thought I'd mention it here, not to get anyone to play it but
because its release on Luna seems noteworthy. Remedy had granted Epic
an exclusive on the game (for as yet unknown-to-the-public length of
time), which is why you can't buy the game on Steam or GOG.* So seeing
"Alan Wake II" finally start to show up on other platforms may
indicate that this exclusive license is coming to an end.

    Or maybe not.

    But I'm hopeful.

    * a decision that meant it took three years of sales before Remedy saw
any profit on the game, when they'd probably have made it back day
one if they could have sold it on Steam. Then again, according to
Remedy, without the influx of cash from Epic, the game would never
have gotten made to begin with. But it just goes to show that
exclusives on Epic generally aren't good for developer or customer.
