Given how territorial ants are, and how intolerant they are of other
species of ants entering their territory... odds are there aren't any
in his colony. AFAIK, our Ant is a member of /Formicidae Internetus
Occidentalis/, and the entry of any /Formica obscuripes/ (thatcher
ant) would result in an all-out war of extermination. ;-)

Ohhhhh! That could be dangerous! I have heard of that gang! :-)

I did not know you were such an entomologist! Maybe just for ants?

I have a PhD in ant-ology from YouTube University, no more ;-)

But ants are one of the most common life-forms on earth. They are an
extremely successful and adaptive clade, with lots of interesting
behaviors and tactics. Even if I don't really care for the bugs that
much themselves (sorry, Ant! ;-) , they're an interesting example of
    life's adaptability.

Besides, the morphology of ants is a perfect blend of cuteness and
menace. They can be villains or heroes depending on context. Although
I tend to view them as the former most of the time. Partly due to
years battling carpenter ants trying to EAT MY FUCKING HOUSE but
mostly because of the movie, "Them!" ;-)

I bought this ant war game (I think that is what it is) on sale a
couple months ago (Empires of the Underground). Now I sort of feel
like playing it but it is an RTS and it will wear me out real fast :-)

There's always something like "Grounded" (an action/survival game
where you're shrunk down to the size of ants) if you want something a
    bit more twitch-based

Yeah, Usenet's been a bit wonky these past few weeks. It seems to be
better now --knock on wood-- but for a while I noticed messages just
    not appearing.

As usual, I'm blaming Microsoft. I know they don't actually have
anything to do with it, but they're my go-to guys for when things go
wrong in the computing world ;-P
