    Wireshark.com is a nice place to get Wireshark. Wireshark for the most part monitors all the activity that's going on throughout your computer and networks. These small blocks are broken down into hexadecimal while providing a lot of usful information and has a search feature as well as other goodies for those curious to see what's going on throughout your network.

    It'll also show printable ascii if you drill down far enough into the
    packet. Extensive flitering on ips, ports, protocol type etc.
