M43: Dust, Gas, and Stars in the Orion Nebula Image Credit: [3]NASA, [4]ESA, [5]Hubble, [6]HLA; Reprocessing & Copyright: [7]Bryan Goff Explanation: Unspeakable beauty and unimaginable bedlam can be found together in the Orion Nebula Arguably the most famous of all astronomy nebulas, the [8]Great Nebula in Orion is an [9]immense interstellar [10]molecular cloud only 1500 [11]light-years away. In the [12]featured deep image shown in assigned colors, the part of the nebula's center known as M43 is shown as taken by the [13]Hubble Space Telescope. The [14]Great Nebula in Orion can be found with the unaided eye near the [15]easily identifiable belt of three stars in the popular [16]constellation [17]Orion. The entire Orion Nebula, including both [18]M42 and [19]M43 spans about 40 light years and is located in the same [20]spiral arm of [21]our Galaxy as the [22]Sun.
